Background
The story of xpeng.guru began long before the website itself existed.
It started in late 2022, when a YouTube review by Wheelsboy introduced the XPENG G9 to an international audience. The combination of elegant design, spacious interior, and advanced infotainment immediately stood out — a blend of Scandinavian calm and Chinese innovation that felt unlike anything else on the market.
At the time, XPENG wasn’t yet active in Denmark, so the interest remained mostly curiosity. More than a year later, in late 2023, that curiosity returned when XPENG Danmark launched a leasing campaign for the G9. Around the same period, the search for an electric SUV was underway — comparing models such as the Lexus RX 450e, VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, Toyota bZ4X, and Nissan Ariya.
After a test drive in early January 2024, the choice became clear. The G9 simply felt right — the balance of space, comfort, and quality stood out. What began as a leasing plan soon turned into a purchase, and a Graphite Gray G9 with the Premium Comfort Package was delivered on 22 May 2024 at XPENG Hillerød.

That delivery marked the start of a deeper journey.
From following the Danish XPENG owner groups to asking questions and helping others, an informal exchange of knowledge quickly grew. In late June, XPENG Danmark invited owners to share suggestions for software and product improvements. One detailed response led to a direct invitation for a feedback meeting with Joachim from XPENG Danmark, “Hiller,” Product Manager for G9, and “Fredy,” Head of OTA Europe. The meeting opened a constructive dialogue about real-world experiences and practical improvements for upcoming software versions and future versions of the car.
As a result of the meeting, a small group of owners was invited to join XPENG’s first international XOS v5 beta program. The G9 received XOS 5.2.5 Beta on 2 July — just as summer holidays had started — and testing began immediately.

Over the following weeks, detailed feedback was shared with both XPENG Danmark and the engineering teams behind the software.
Testing continued throughout the summer, including a 3,000 km road trip through Denmark, Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg, generating extensive real-world data and feedback across different regions and charging networks.
When the final version of XOS 5.2.5 was publicly released in august, the experience from the beta phase proved valuable: within the first weekend after rollout, more than a hundred owner questions were answered, clarifications provided, and observations compared.
What began as curiosity about a new electric vehicle has since evolved into a wider effort to understand, test, and improve XPENG’s technology. xpeng.guru was created to make that knowledge easier to share — an independent platform built around transparency, collaboration, and curiosity.
